My name is Nikolas, and I am currently studying Medicinal and Biological Chemistry at UTSC. I am actively developing my experience in both biology and chemistry laboratories. I aim to study the incredible chemistry of life and to apply that knowledge in helping the world.
What I love about learning is that there is and always will be more to learn. There is so much science at work in our daily lives, and I am looking forward to understanding it better!
In BIOB12, I transformed E. coli bacteria with plasmids and evaluated lac operon function using a variety of assays.
In CHMA11, I performed titrations to determine the acid ionization constant of acetylsalicylic acid.
Clinical Assistant
Streamlined clinic operations by thoroughly preparing and sanitizing rooms and organizing patient records.
Conducted routine maintenance checks on clinical therapy devices and equipment while keeping detailed logs to ensure patient safety.
Instructed several students in advanced biology, chemistry, physics, math, computer science, and French, resulting in an increase of 10 to 20% in final grades.
Prepared lesson plans over 5 years, incorporating multiple learning methods, to maximize students’ academic success.
Executive
I serve as an executive in the UTSC RCC along with the other executive, Archie Kouramanis. We manage club operations and logistics, coordinating facility bookings and guest speaker availability to streamline weekly programming.
